The annual show, which attracted more than 80,000 people last year, offers thrilling air displays set against the backdrop of the stunning south Devon coastline and is regarded as one of the best in the UK.
Air Southwest, which is an official sponsor of the show, will be part of a line-up that includes the Red Arrows, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the impressive spectacle of the RAF’s Tornado GR4 Role Demonstration Team, which has just been confirmed.
Air Southwest chief pilot Nigel Humphries said: “We’re delighted to be among such illustrious company and are really looking forward to the show. We’ll be flying at just a few hundred feet along the coast so it should be a pretty spectacular sight and makes a difference from our usual flights to other parts of the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands!”
Kevin Wills, organiser of the Dawlish Air Show, said: “We’ve got a great programme of events lined up in the air and on the ground and we’re delighted that Devon and Cornwall’s own airline Air Southwest is taking part in what promises to be a fun-filled day.
“As ever our collectors will be out and about asking people to make a modest donation so that we can continue the show in years to come.”
The Dawlish Air Show takes place on Thursday, August 19, with the flying flying display expected to run from around 1.00pm untill approximately 4.30pm.
There will be static helicopters located at Dawlish Warren and family fun on the Lawn in Dawlish including sideshows, stalls, and ground displays offering something for everyone. Entertainment continues into the night with live music and dance.
As well as Air Southwest, other sponsors include Sainsburys and Global Aviation Resource.
