A drinks reception was held on Wednesday (20 July) to celebrate the new refurbishment and extended facilities, with Ron Tulley, Mayor of St Ives attending to officially mark the re-opening of the hotel.
As part of a major £3 million investment, the privately owned hotel has recently completed a newly built reception area with remodelled entrance, state of the art conference suite and stylish new bar, bedroom extension and elegant lounge.
Malcolm and Stephen Baker, the father and son owners of the Carbis Bay Hotel, welcomed the suppliers and contractors who assisted with the refurbishments, as well as over 200 local residents and business people, to visit and see the new facilities.
Guests also had the chance to take trips around Carbis Bay on board the hotel’s private Sunseeker yacht.
Stephen Baker said: “We are absolutely delighted with how the hotel looks following the recent work we have carried out. The refurbishments mean we can now offer improved conferencing and wedding facilities, and guests staying at the hotel will be able to enjoy the stylish and modern new look.”
The Carbis Bay Hotel is the only hotel in Cornwall to boast its own Blue Flag beach – over 25 acres of golden sand in one of the most beautiful bays in the world. The hotel has already been awarded Enjoy England Gold and Silver awards and was the winner of the 2010 and 2011 Westcountry Wedding Hotel of the Year Award
The hotel has 44 individually styled rooms, a wide range of self catering apartments and cottages as well as a fine dining restaurant and conservatory eatery, sun terrace and outdoor swimming pool with direct access to the beach.
