Celebration of Nursing could hold key to new career

17/05/2010

Cornwall Care, the region’s largest independent care provider for older people, is inviting nursing professionals and aspiring nurses to join them at the Hall for Cornwall, Truro from 10am until 4pm on Thursday 27th May, 2010 for a celebration of nursing and nursing skills.

Designed to celebrate the very best in frontline care provision, the event is also the perfect place to find out about and apply for a career in nursing with opportunities to talk to nursing professionals and Care Home Managers and to meet some of Cornwall Care’s senior team.

Douglas Webb, Chief Executive of Cornwall Care said:  “Our professional and skilled teams are at the forefront of the essential care and support we offer to over 1,500 older people a week in Cornwall.  Their skills and dedication are always worth celebrating!

“At Cornwall Care we intend to employ approximately 100 nursing professionals to help older people in the County live more independent and active lives. We have an excellent team but there is always room for more. I hope that anyone interested in a career in nursing will join us at the Hall for Cornwall on Thursday 27th May to celebrate the profession and find out how to become a part of something very special and rewarding.”

Cornwall Care is a charity that runs care homes and community services, employing over 1,200 staff across the County.

Cornwall Care’s Celebration of Nursing takes place at Hall for Cornwall, Truro on Thursday 24th May from 10am – 4pm and is free to attend.
