Tea Dance date with Cornwall Care

01/07/2010

Tregenna Castle in St Ives is the location for Cornwall Care’s next Tea Dance, on Thursday 8th July from 2-5pm.

The traditional Tea Dance will bring together hundreds of people from across the county who benefit from Cornwall Care’s range of services for older people, including residents from the charity’s 18 care homes. Live music and entertainment will be provided and there will be tea and cake to keep energy high.

The Tea Dance will also be a celebration for members of staff from the organisation who have achieved NVQs in Health and Social Care, with certificates being presented at the event by Cornwall Care clients.

Douglas Webb, Chief Executive of Cornwall Care said: “This Tea Dance is just one of a vast range of activities and events organised for our clients throughout the year by Cornwall Care’s Active Life Team.
“The event is also a great opportunity to celebrate our staff’s achievements. They continually improve their skills to deliver the highest level of care across the county.

“I hope everyone brings their dancing shoes and takes to the floor in what promises to be an incredibly enjoyable event!”

Rex Tilley, a Day Care Client at Trewartha, Carbis Bay, is attending the Tea Dance with his wife Betty, he said:  “Even though I attend Trewartha as a Day Care Client I still get to take part in lots of different activities organised by Cornwall Care.

“As a former dance champion I take any opportunity for a spin around the floor, so Betty and I are particularly looking forward to the Tregenna Castle Tea Dance.

“We hope to do plenty of dancing, meet lots of new people and of course enjoy the delicious tea and cake!”

Cornwall Care is a registered charity, operating on a not-for-profit basis and is the region’s largest independent care provider for older people.

Cornwall Care’s traditional Tea Dance takes place on Thursday 8th July from 2-5pm at Tregenna Castle, St Ives and is free to attend for anyone benefitting from the charity’s services across the county.
