Freeview digital TV services available for the first time today

Experts from the Switchover Help Scheme will be visiting locations in the Channel Islands to offer older and disabled residents advice about the practical help they can receive to switch to digital TV.

Well-known broadcaster and former Tomorrow’s World presenter, Maggie Philbin visited community centres in Jersey and Guernsey today to officially launch the ‘Helping Hand’ campaign for the Switchover Help Scheme in the Channel Islands.

Older and disabled people living in the Channel Islands are being urged to watch out for Switchover Help Scheme information packs that explain how they can get extra help to convert one TV to digital in time for switchover.

All analogue television channels in the West TV region were switched off for good today, signalling the dawn of an all-digital era for more than two million viewers.
