An outline planning application for a major part of the Newquay Growth Area – now known as ‘Nansledan’ – has been submitted to Cornwall Council.

Construction work is due to start in the next few weeks on a mixed-use neighbourhood in Newquay that aims to set a benchmark for sustainable development in Cornwall.

Communities and Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles has decided not to call in Cornwall Council’s decision to approve the Truro Eastern District Centre, which means construction work on the scheme is expected to start in early 2013.

A detailed planning application has been submitted for a new park and ride, Cornish Food Centre, household waste recycling centre and 98 new homes on land to the east of Truro.

The Duchy of Cornwall has welcomed a decision by Restormel Borough Council to approve three outline planning applications at Newquay in Cornwall that will create 700 new homes and support almost 600 jobs.
