The shows, now in their 32nd year, give business owners and managers the opportunity to meet with a huge range of local and national suppliers offering everything to meet the needs of the hospitality and catering industry.
Next year’s expowest exhibitions take place at:
• expowest Westcountry, Westpoint, Exeter on February 8 and 9 2012
• expowest Cornwall, Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge on March 6,7 and 8 2012
Peter Sugden, Managing Director of Truro-based expowest organisers Exhibitions South West, said: “Every year our Westcountry and Cornwall exhibitions attract hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of trade visitors and have become a firm fixture in the business event calendar.
“We’re delighted to confirm our dates for 2012 and are really encouraged that we have already had an excellent response for the events, with both existing and new exhibitors contacting us early to secure their stands.
“These events are an ideal platform for exhibitors to showcase their products and services and for visitors it’s an opportunity to make buying decisions for the season ahead.”
This year’s Westcountry show at WestPoint near Exeter will also include a tourism conference organised by Robin Barker of Services For Tourism, which handles tourism award schemes across the South West and a number of other tourism initiatives.
Among those attending both next year’s shows will be Holsworthy-based furniture and accessories specialists Barton Reed & Co Ltd.
Managing Director David Moore said: “We’ve been exhibiting at the Westcountry and Cornwall shows for the past eight or nine years and have found them to be very useful to our business. Attending the shows puts us in front of a bigger audience and gives potential customers the chance to see samples of our furniture, which is far more effective than looking at it online or in a catalogue. Both of the shows in 2011 were very good and we generated a lot of very good enquiries, many of which became orders or long term leads, and we will definitely be exhibiting again in 2012.”
John Ponsford, of Exeter-based refrigeration specialists K F Bartlett Ltd, said: “We’ve been exhibiting with Expowest for as long as I can remember, and have only ever missed two of the Westcountry shows. It marks the start of the season for us and always generates an awful lot of business, of both sales on the stand and a large number of enquiries following the show. We’re actually seeing an increase in serious enquiries and the shows have become a lot more targeted, so we will definitely be exhibiting again next year.”
Mandy Body, of Halzephron Herb Farm, St Ives, will be attending the Cornwall exhibition. She said: “Expowest 2011 provided our company with an excellent opportunity to showcase our re-branded products and the event was very successful in generating numerous leads, which have since resulted in new business. We are looking forward to returning next year.”
