The company paid for new shirts, shorts and socks for the young footballers – and the delight on their faces couldn’t be more apparent.
Chris Varcoe, Imerys’ Mineral Services Manager, said: “Imerys continues to support many varied organisations in the Mid Cornwall clay area.
“We like to support and encourage opportunities for young people to participate in a range of activities.
“Therefore we are delighted to have been able to support Biscovey Youth Football Team by purchasing their new shirts, shorts and socks and we wish them every success for the future.”
Coach Andrew Sweet said: “The boys are delighted and looking really professional as they enter their first season as an 11-a-side team. Previously they’d played seven-a-side mini soccer.
“We’re hugely grateful to Imerys, and to Macron Store Cornwall, for jumping into help and pulling out all the stops to get the kits delivered in time for the first game.”
