First look inside renovated hotel

15/02/2011

These are the first images showing how the Land’s End Hotel could look when it reopens next month following a major refurbishment.

The artists’ impressions give an idea of the contemporary new look and shows off the hotel’s dramatic cliff top views to full capacity.

Land’s End is investing more than £250,000 to give the three-star hotel a new lease of life, with renovations to the restaurant, lounge bar and reception area. After extensive work having taken place over the past couple of months, the hotel and restaurant are due to reopen for the 2011 season in early April.

David Bryans, General Manager at Land’s End, said: “I’m delighted to say the refurbishment schedule is on time and progressing well.

“Every day something changes and each time I walk into the hotel I’m blown away by what’s happening.

“I’ve always said the hotel has all the key ingredients to make it one of the most outstanding in the South West, and this is our chance to make that happen.

“There is an air of excitement among the whole team here at Land’s End and we are all looking forward to unveiling the hotel to the world next month.”

This work is the first phase of a total overhaul for the hotel, with upgrades to the bedrooms and bathrooms currently planned for next winter.

The ground floor restaurant, lounge bar and reception area are being given a sleek new look, bringing it up-to-date with a light, airy and modern feel, extending the seating capacity to more than 200.

The contemporary makeover has been designed by award-winning Absolute, the company which has worked on the St Moritz Hotel, The Hotel at Watergate Bay, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall and Mannings.

Land’s End has recruited a new management team - including a hotel manager, head chef and restaurant manager – who will be committed to ensuring everything is of the highest standard.
“We have aspirations for the hotel to be one of the top places to eat in West Cornwall, with outstanding food at affordable prices,” said David Bryans.

“The restaurant will offer an exciting new menu using the best in fresh local produce and will be open all day to non-residents for morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea, as well as evening meals.

“We are all very excited to be starting 2011 with this major investment. This is the time for the Land’s End Hotel to shine again.”
