Summer may be drawing to a close but there is still a fantastic range of events lined up to ensure that the fourth annual Plymouth Summer festival goes out with a bang.

The bank holiday weekend saw some of August’s best weather so far and we are hoping the sunshine stays for the remainder of the Plymouth Summer Festival.

Prepare your taste buds for a local produce extravaganza as Plymouth Flavour Fest 2010 returns to Plymouth’s Piazza this Friday for three days.  

This year’s Flavour Fest (13-15 August) promises plenty of food related fun for young and old alike with a jam packed programme of events just for little cooks in the ‘Kids in the Kitchen’ marquee.

Plymouth Summer Festival enters one of its hottest periods yet with two flagship events – Flavour Fest and the Fireworks Championships – in the same week! Best of all, both of these fabulous events are FREE to attend and enjoy.

Plymouth Flavour Fest 2010 is set to play host to a culinary clash of the titans, as well known radio presenter Gordon Sparks, from the Plymouth Breakfast Show, BBC Radio Devon, goes head to head with new Plymouth Argyle Manager Peter Reid!

Plymouth’s Big Screen will sing to the sound of the musicals this Saturday when it screens a very special performance of Prom 19 live from the Royal Albert Hall, to mark the 80th birthday of one of Broadway’s great innovators. This all-Sondheim Prom draws together leading figures of the opera and theatre worlds – plus some further special guests.

Devon based author and culinary sensation Miranda Gardiner will be appearing at Plymouth Flavour Fest 2010, for two demonstrations in the cookery theatre as well as signing copies of her delicious food novel ‘Teaching Dad to cook Flapjack’.

July is jam-packed with Summer Festival fun for all the family, from boats to bikes and busses to ballroom and everything in between!

Much like the glorious weather we have enjoyed recently, the Plymouth Summer Festival is really starting to hot up.
