With a packed programme of events throughout September, many of which are free to attend and enjoy, there is still plenty to do across the city for young and old alike.
Until 05 Sept:
The stunning Moscow State Circus returns to Plymouth’s Central Park with this once in a life time opportunity to see the award winning show 'Legenda' with a huge cast of Russia's greatest and most flexible circus performers. Many of the critically acclaimed acts are pushing the boundary of human physical ingenuity to its limits.
This time the world’s most famous circus collides with the legendary Russian folklore figure Rasputin, to create a sensational show that combines contemporary and classical circus at its very best. ‘Legenda’ features a double Russian swing troupe, human statues, body twisting contortionists, award-winning clowns, the rotating wheel of death and the crossbow act of The Popazovs, where a wife shoots an apple off her husband's head from seven simultaneous crossbows.
The entire show is housed in a specially designed big top and is uniquely domed to accommodate the complex rigging for the aerial acts, supported by only four 'king' poles which will give audiences a better view.
08 Sept:
For over thirty years, The Moody Blues have been musical mainstays on concert stages around the world and now they return to the Plymouth Pavilions’ stage.
Part of the original British invasion of Supergroups, they've lit up the hearts and minds of millions of rock fans with inspiring anthems like 'Nights in White Satin', 'Tuesday Afternoon' and 'I'm Just A Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)'.
Their remarkable consistency has generated the sale of over 55 million albums and created a standard for classic rock music which has brought them numerous awards including the NARM Number One World Group Award 1972, 18 platinum records, The Playboy Vocal Group of the Year Award, the Golden Ticket Award for the sale of 100,000 tickets at Madison Square Garden, as well as ASCAP and Performance Awards, the Ivor Novello Statue and a priceless place in rock history.
