A part of the Plymouth Summer Festival; the Summer Screenings take place throughout July and August and combine classic films with a day of entertainment on the Piazza.
This Friday will see the Piazza filled with farmers markets and retail stalls, and deck chairs laid out for visitors to come and watch the film.
The Jungle Book will be showing at 10.00, 1.00 and 3.00, and Hartley House Dance Club will be performing and carrying out a workshop at 11.45.
Clint Jones, Plymouth City Centre Manager said: “The Jungle Book is an all-time classic Disney film, which will be equally enjoyed by children seeing it for the first time and adults who remember it from their own childhood. We’re planning a fun, family friendly day of entertainment on the Piazza, and would like to encourage everyone visiting Plymouth on Friday to take a couple of hours out of their day to come down, relax and watch the film.”
The Summer Screenings will continue in August, with Finding Nemo showing on Friday 12 August, and Tangled on Friday 26 August.
The Plymouth Summer Festival has been developed by Plymouth City Centre Company, Plymouth Chamber of Commerce and Plymouth City Council and benefitted from funding in its first three years through the Plymouth City Development Company (PCDC). All investment is matched with financial support and help in kind from across the business community and will be used to take forward a fifth year of regional and national marketing and promotion.
