Win a seven-night sailing break to explore the South West!

26/01/2012

Local boat owners are being given the chance to explore the fantastic cruising waters of the South West of England by entering a competition to win a free seven-night berth at Sutton Harbour Marina in Plymouth.

Plymouth was placed firmly on the sailing map in 2011 when it hosted the UK leg of the America’s Cup, one of the world’s most prestigious sailing events.

It’s the perfect base for exploring the uncongested waters of the South West, with the tidal rivers Yealm and Tamar right on the doorstep, and the towns of Dartmouth, Salcombe, Falmouth and Fowey all close by.

For sailors wishing to travel further afield, the Isles of Scilly, Channel Islands and even France are all within easy reach.

Sutton Harbour Marina is located next to the famous and historic Barbican area of Plymouth, just a stone’s throw from thriving cafĂ©s, restaurants and bars, and a short stroll from Plymouth Hoe and the city centre.

Marina Manager Mark Brimacombe said: “If you’re looking for uncongested cruising waters and stunning coastline, the Westcountry really cannot be beaten. Plymouth is ideally situated for boat owners to use as a base to explore the South West, as well as to discover the delights of a city rich in maritime heritage.”

Owned by the Sutton Harbour Group, Sutton Harbour Marina has doubled its number of berths from 250 to 490 in just five years, and has recently been awarded five Gold Anchors by the Yacht Harbour Association for the high standards of its facilities.

The competition to win seven nights of free visitor berthing at Sutton Harbour Marina is open to owners of monohull sailing or motor boats up to 13 meters in length. To enter visit suttonharbourmarina.com. The closing date is March 31 and the winner will be notified by April 14. Terms and conditions apply, which can be viewed on the website.
