DCA accompanied its client Isles of Scilly Travel (IOST) to London in March to take part in the travel industry’s leading media event, TravMedia UK’s International Media Marketplace (IMM).
This popular annual event offers a valuable opportunity for travel brands and businesses to engage directly with travel writers, bloggers and journalists, and this year more than 300 media attended, from a diverse range of online and print titles, including national newspapers, magazines and websites.
DCA worked with IOST to promote the Isles of Scilly and encourage writers to review the destination on a press trip, as well as promoting the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group’s travel services, especially the brand new Island Helicopters service launched this year.
DCA and the Steamship Group engaged with 33 journalists, bloggers and travel writers during the day, and secured 14 high profile press trips for 2018, including many linked directly to the helicopter launch, with travel writers for The Telegraph, The Guardian, Sunday Times, Silver Travel Advisor, Travel Loving Family.com and loveEXPLORING.com/MSN.com keen to visit.
